Chakras ~ Wheels of Energy

The chakras are powerful junctions in the nadi system, acting as the main receivers and distributors of prana, the vital life force, between the physical and subtle bodies. The word chakra means "wheel" in Sanskrit, symbolizing the dynamic, spinning nature of these energy centers.

In the yogic and Ayurvedic traditions, the body is understood as a multidimensional system composed of physical, energetic, mental, and spiritual layers. The nadis, or energy channels, weave through these layers, forming an intricate network that transports prana throughout the being. At specific points where multiple nadis converge, chakras emerge as vortices of energy, each with a unique frequency, function, and relationship to our overall well-being.

There are seven primary chakras, aligned along the spine, influencing not only our physiological functions but also our mental and emotional states. When these energy centers are open and balanced, prana flows freely, fostering vitality, clarity, and harmony. However, blockages can manifest as physical discomfort, emotional distress, or a sense of disconnection from our true selves.

Through Ayurveda and yogic practices, we can support the balance of each chakra, harmonizing our energy with the natural rhythms of life.
